How To Find a Great Dog Trainer
Do you need a dog obedience trainer but are not sure how to find one who is good?
There are some great tips in this article in the online Pittsburgh Tribune-Review by dog trainer John Ross.
Here is one of his tips:
When you see a person accompanied by a well-trained dog in a public place such as a park, beach or downtown shopping area, ask the person where they had their dog trained. When people see me out with my black Labrador, Sophie, I’m often approached and asked where I trained her. They don’t know me from Adam’s cat. I tell them that I used that great book “Dog Talk.” I’m too inhibited to tell them that I’m the author.
There are a lot more great tips in the article. He also tells you how to evaluate the trainer once you have found one that you might consider.
John Ross is the author of the books Adoptable Dog, Dog Talk, and Puppy Preschool.
