Airline Will Allow Dogs in Cabin
According to the Business Journal of Milwaukee, Midwest Airlines is going to start letting small dogs ride in the airplane cabin, starting on January 30, 2006.
The article states:
Under a new policy for the Oak Creek-based airline, travelers on Midwest Airlines and Midwest Connect flights can bring up to two small dogs like dachsunds, Shih Tzus or puppies into the passenger cabins, provided they travel in an airline-approved, under-seat, soft-sided carrier. Midwest sells the carriers through its Web site.

I think this is great. It’s about time! I never understood why small dogs could not ride in the cabin with their owners.
I bet this will allow some people to travel by airplane who would not have done so before, because they did not want to leave their beloved dogs behind or have them travel in a separate compartment.
