    Hello,

My Mom has a 24 month old doberman who just over the last few months has shown dominating and agressive behavior. Samson (dobi) was recently diagnosised with thyroid problem and may possibly have ear birthdefect in one ear and a bad infection the other. The Vet just pumps him with antibiotics until recently was referred to a specialist who informed my parents of the possible defect and infection behind the eardrum and is now taking Samson to Texas A&M to see if they can help him. Samson is part of our family and we love him very much and my parents are afraid that if they can not help him that he will have to be put to sleep because it’s not fair to him nor to the family. Please respond ASAP!

    Thank you,

    Amber Summers :)

    Hi Amber,

I am so sorry to hear about your problems with Samson. But I am not Cesar Millan, I am just a fan of his. His website/blog is at http://blogs5.nationalgeographic.com/channel/blog/dogwhisperer/, so maybe you can contact him there.

Sorry I don’t have an answer for you, but I really hope Samson gets better. You could try to find a dog trainer for him to deal with the aggression, after he recovers from his infection.

But I can tell you that if the ear infections just leave him deaf but otherwise ok, he should be fine. I had a deaf dog once. He learned to read hand signals, like motioning him to come or to stay.

    Pat
