Doggie Day Care Saved My Sanity



Doggie day care is really not too expensive if you only use it occasionally. My dog groomer offers doggie day care for only $1 per hour, and it is free if you have grooming done that day.

My dogs (I have two of them now) had a bad case of cabin fever. I am a big believer in walking them every day, but lately I hurt my foot and could not walk far. So the dogs were driving me crazy, acting up and barking over every little thing.

I took both of them to the groomer on Saturday, and left them there most of the day in doggie day care. Amazingly, they came home so much calmer and better behaved. They just love playing with the other dogs there, and it tired them out too.

The good effects of the doggie day care lasted through yesterday too. I think they just needed to get out of the house and let off some steam.

I plan on taking the dogs to doggie day care once every couple of weeks, just for the socialization, for something different to do, to let them play with other dogs and come home more relaxed.

I would highly recommend using doggie day care this way. You don’t have to use it every day. Especially if you only have one dog, it is a good way for them to get in some play time with other dogs once in a while.
