Housebreaking Your Puppy

I have a fear of trying to housebreak a dog. I am afraid I wouldn’t be very good at it.
That’s the main reason that I have always adopted dogs that were already housebroken. When you adopt a dog from a shelter, you can choose a dog who is old enough to be housebroken. True, there will be accidents sometimes, but it is not as hard as starting from scratch with a puppy.
The only time I have had a puppy was when I was a child. Then, it was fun to take cute little Bill outside to do his business. And I had plenty of time. Besides, I was not really the one responsible. I was just helping out my mom.
Now I am working and would have a hard time taking a little puppy out so many times and being so patient until he was housebroken. But of course, many people do it with no problem. I worked with a guy who would sneak out every day at lunchtime to let his puppy out. (I say “sneak” because it would take him longer than the normal lunch hour to get home and back.) No one found out though, and eventually the puppy was old enough so he did not have to do this.
If you are going to get a puppy and think you might need some help, I did find an interesting ebook on How to Potty Train Your Puppy in 7 Days. Click here to take a look!
?Potty train your puppy within 7 days ? Even if you’re hardly home, can?t afford professional trainers and failed past attempts!?
(…and NO, it doesn’t involve complicated time consuming tactics,
or any other crazy puppy potty training schemes!)
As I said, I have never had occasion to use this information, but it might help you if you need it.

We had our puppies house trained in a week… it’s really simple.. and effective.. no need to buy an e-book, I can send you to an online free info source or just tell you how…
The hardest part is being consistent and being prepared to take your puppy outside after she eats, plays, sleeps, etc.. basically all the time!

You can post the link to the info here in the comments if you want. As long as it is good information, and not spam, it is ok to post a link. Thanks!

Hey thanks! This link is not to my site but to the “Dumb Friends League” Humane Society. It is the exact procedure we use and recommend to all of our friends. We learned from the Volhard Motivational Method.. but Wendy doesn’t have it spelled out on her web page.. since these folks have done all the work of spelling it out online, I don’t have to…
We use this in combination with crate training, but we are fortunate to be able to take the puppies out of the crate every 2 hours until they are older. Not everyone has that luxury.
