I just had to show you a picture of my cute doggie; her name is Cinnamon. I have had her since last fall. She is a Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier.

She was a puppy mill breeder dog. She was four years old when I got her. The puppy mill dropped her off at the Humane Society, where I adopted her.

When I first got her, she was shaking and so scared of everything. The guy at the Humane Society said she might always just lay around and not do much. But I just felt like I wanted to take her home.

The Humane Society guy was wrong. She has come so far since then.

At first, she would just lay in a corner in the hallway. She would not even stay in the living room with me. But little by little, she got braver. Now she lays next to me on the couch.

She loves people now too. Instead of shaking and being fearful, she now runs up to greet people and loves to be petted. She loves to go on walks, especially if we meet people who want to pet her.

She has learned to play a little bit too. We go to visit my boyfriend’s parents once a week, and sometimes his sister’s dog is there. Cinnamon will play with Jackson and wrestle around with him. She loves it. She doesn’t understand what to do with a ball yet, but I’m sure that will come.

She has a mind of her own; she is very stubborn. That’s probably why she survived the puppy mill ok. Now it just makes us laugh when she acts like a stubborn little princess.

My Cute Dog Cinnamon:
Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier

Normally, Soft-Coated Wheaten Terriers have long hair. But we have to keep Cinnamon’s hair short because she chews it when she gets nervous. When it was long, she was getting these huge hairballs that she would cough up, because of swallowing her hair. So the vet said to keep it short. Thank goodness - no more hairballs.

I think she looks cute with the short hair, anyway. This way, her big brown eyes are not covered up.

This is her favorite spot - chilling out on the couch.
